Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

Lola the Cat needs a home

Does your cat need a pal to play with? Lola would love to be that pal.

After being trapped Lola rarely left her crate as she was afraid of well... everything. With the help of her foster Mom, Lola has worked very hard on overcoming her fears and coming out of those unreadable safe spots she once liked so much. And, while she will likely never be a lap cat, she is happiest on the couch or bed near you as long as you don't move too quickly or invade her space too much - in classic cat fashion she definitely demands things be done on her terms.

Lola is definitely at least part Chartreux with the most luxurious grey coat and giant yellow eyes and many of the typical Chartreux characteristics. "The Chartreux might well be compared to a mime, silent but communicative and sometimes silly. Short playtimes interspersed with naps and meals are their idea of the perfect day. When they are not displaying their superb timing and pouncing ability, "killing" toys with abandon, or performing acrobatic flips as they chases a lure toy, they are an attentive and gentle companion who likes to stay near their people and observe their doings."

She is still very weary of humans but you can see in her eyes just how badly she wants to be near you. Other cats however she LOVES, especially young ones as she has recently discovered the joy of playing and can't get enough of it, batting toys from one end of the apartment to the other and back again with her big beautiful eyes just sparkling with happiness.

For this reason, Lola must be adopted into a home with another feline companion.

Lola has overcome many of her fears but is still working on the broom and even more so the vacuum - at times having an accident due to her fear if either one gets too close. She is however, getting braver every day.

Lola is still working on the being touched thing - she's super curious and wants the love she sees her foster siblings getting but isn't quite sure it's safe yet. She is becoming less reactive over time - from accidents and fleeing in terror to a small anxious hop and if you persist simply going somewhere safe a few feet away.

When she isn't tossing toys around Lola can usually be found in a window watching the world go by, lounging on the cat tower with one of her foster sisters or snuggled on the couch with any number of her foster siblings. She uses the litter box perfectly, scratches nothing except the cat tower and only ever meows to tell you she needs some space. She would do best in a quiet adult household with people who can continue to gain her trust and build her confidence. She isn't a fan of kids or aggressive dogs but quiet passive ones are great - the more fur pals the better!
